The Melink Family of Companies

Melink Corporation was founded by Steve Melink in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1987. Steve has a BSME from Vanderbilt and MBA from Duke University, along with several years of experience in the HVAC industry with Trane and Emerson. He serves as the Chairman of Melink Corporation, Melink Solar, and Melink ZERO.

Melink T&B is a national provider of HVAC testing and balancing services for restaurant, retail, and supermarket chains. Wherever our customers build new stores, remodel existing ones, and/or replace old and inefficient HVAC systems, we ensure their systems are installed and operating properly. Customers include many of the largest and most successful chains in the country such as Walmart, Target, McDonald’s, and Starbucks. Our key competitive advantage is a national network of direct hire company technicians.

Intelli-Hood is a product Steve invented, patented, and developed for commercial kitchen ventilation systems. Over time the company pioneered its inclusion into various codes that govern kitchen exhaust systems – a critical factor for the marketplace. It saves energy by automatically reducing the exhaust and make-up air fan speeds during idle, non-cooking conditions. We sell and install our controls world-wide to new foodservice facilities as well as existing. Customers include Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Publix, and numerous hospitals, universities, and corporate entities. Over 11,000 systems have been installed around the world in over 35 countries.

PositiV is the latest product we have introduced to market. It is a standalone, wireless system that monitors building pressure and remotely tracks building health. Alerts are sent when the system detects anything that is out of user-set parameters. Moreover, PositiV monitors temperature, relative humidity, and CO2 so that you gain a full picture of the health of your facility. PositiV allows users to track building health metrics 24/7 with short- and long-term trending capabilities. Data can be accessed via the Melink Portal, a comprehensive, web-based platform that shows how your facility is performing. With PositiV, end users can easily triage problem facilities, prioritize on maintenance requests, and, ultimately, save energy by ensuring their HVAC system is performing effectively.’

Melink Solar is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business focused on commercial-scale solar projects. We have installed over 115 MWs of solar projects across the country - in OH, KY, IN, MI, PA, MA, NJ, NY, PA, IL, TX, NE, WV, and HI.

Melink ZERO is a design, engineering, and product development company focused on enhancing the energy efficiency of HVAC systems to make it easier for buildings to achieve net-zero energy. We have installed geothermal projects in several states. With a newly patented pump/controls station, Manifest, and innovations around PCM TES Tanks we are cost-reducing energy-efficient technologies to help them go mainstream.

Combined, the organization employs more than 100 people and generated sales of approximately $37 million in 2021. Melink’s corporate campus has two 30,000 SF headquarters buildings that are both Net-Zero Energy, and one that is LEED Platinum. Additionally, the company has installed over 60 EV charging stations for employees to charge their EV’s at no cost, courtesy of the sun. Our reputation and brand as a pioneer and leader in sustainability and clean energy solutions is one of the best in our State, the Midwest, and even the U.S.

Melink ZERO Timeline

2017

Melink Solar & Geo applies for SBIR phase 1 grant to research efficacy of using thermal storage with geothermal boreholes.
Both downhole and tank options were tested and proven to have merit.

2018

$1M grant to research and develop this further.
HQ2 construction begins and system set up with PCM storage.

2020

First of its kind TES with organic PCM at scale.
Live Full-Scale Test Lab at HQ2 shown to prove TES reduced peak loads.

2021

Phase 2B grant to develop cost effective PCM.
Worked with ORNL extensively and the result is Joule Juice™. 

2022

Mid-Scale Test Lab and T-Bank™ thermal energy storage system are further developed at our headquarters, HQ2.

2023

Melink Zero initiates commercial sale of Joule Juice.
